DIFFERENT TYPES OF ECZEMA

There different types of eczema such as atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, dyshidrotic eczema, neurodermatitis, and nummular eczema

Atopic Dermatitis

  • this type of eczema can be long lasting and the most severe

Contact Dermatitis

  • caused by skin to skin contact with a type of substance that may have an allergic reaction to the skin

Dyshidrotic Eczema

  • found of the soles of the feet, palms of hands and fingers

  • cause twice as much in women

Neurodermatitis

  •  similar to atopic dermatitis

  •  another name for neurodermatitis is lichen simplex chronicus

  •  caused by irritated nerve endings

 

Nummular Eczema

  • effects eldery people

  • happens after skin is infected by an insect bite or break in skin

  • patches of nummular eczema are shaped like coins

Atopic Dermatitis (AD)
  • Eczema is known to be  atopic dermatitis or AD

  • Eczema can be described as many diseases that can appear the same

  • Small fluid filled blisters are how eczema appears on the skin

  • Blisters tend to be raised from the skin 

  • Blisters tear apart or break pretty easily after there is a breakage, fluid discharges from the blister

  • If eczema is in an advanced stage the blisters cover themselves over and over which causes a scaly, thick, and elevated appearance to the skin
